Semaglutide has more phase 3 evidence behind it than anything else in this category, which makes the gap between what the trials showed and what a seller says about them unusually easy to measure. Two companies here sell the same molecule and describe it completely differently. Only the semaglutide products are counted below.

What gets on this board

Every published review whose dispensed list includes a product we have graded as semaglutide — whether that is an FDA-approved Wegovy or Ozempic pen or a 503A compounded preparation. A company that sells a GLP-1 without naming the molecule is not on the board, because there is no claim about semaglutide to grade.

What decides the order

Companies we have a paid relationship with are listed first, and we say so here rather than marking individual rows. Within that group and within the rest, the order is the same measured one: how much of what each company sells is described accurately — the share of the products this board counts whose marketing claim matches the trials behind it. Ties go to the company with more matching claims, then to the one that names its pharmacy, then to the one that publishes a testing regime, and last of all to alphabetical order. Being a partner changes where a company sits, never what its numbers say.

Frequently asked questions

Is compounded semaglutide the same drug as Wegovy?

It is the same molecule and it is not the same product. Wegovy is an approved finished drug: FDA has reviewed that specific formulation, at those doses, for that indication, and it carries an NDC. A compounded preparation is made by a pharmacy against a prescription, is not FDA-approved, and is not reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. Both appear on this board, and each row says which one that company sells.

Why does a company selling the approved pen tend to rank higher?

Because an approved product comes with an approved label, and a label is a claim that has already been through the trials. It is much harder to overstate a drug when the sentence you are allowed to print was written from the evidence. That is a structural advantage, not a compliment, and the board shows it rather than correcting for it.
